Hi to all, it's been a while since my last post, but hey all on IT jobs know that are times when we don't want to see another computer at home, jeje.
Last week a friend of the office updated his computer from a XP to win Vista, all runs great except that his webcam a HP PG088AA has no support for vista, he contacted HP guys but guess what, they just said, sorry this hardware has no driver or support for vista.
So... I decided to try generating a new driver based from xp driver, what I did was this:
1. Download the PG088AA driver for windows XP
2. Installed in a virtual pc with Win XP Pro
3. Check that was installed correctly
4. Extract the driver files with a Driver Backup Software
5. Modify some lines from INF file
6. Test it on my Vista Laptop
7. Final test of PG088AA in Vista
So I decided to post the drive, remember when windows require to find the driver select manually the folder with the driver and if you have any warnings just click on accept.

Amigos, la semana pasada un compañero de la oficina actualizo su computadora de XP a Vista, todo funciono de maravilla excepto por una cosa, su webcam usb PG088AA ya no tiene drivers para vista.
El contacto a las personas de HP y su unica respuesta fue, ese hardware no tiene ni tendra soporte para windows Vista. Asi que decidi ayudarlo tratando de crear un nuevo driver a partir del de XP.
Cuando conecten el dispositivo en Vista diganle que uds van a seleccionar la ruta y si les da alguna advertencia denle aceptar o continuar.

hey thanks for the driver, I have a problem though. I tell my computer were the driver is found but after it scans the folder it tells me "windows could not find the driver software for your device" if it helps I am running on windows vista home premium

tengo el mismo problema..
mi web cam es PG088AA, funcionaba perfecto con Windows XP y ahora tengo Vista y ya no funciona..
me da "Error 2"
no encuentro en ningun lado los controladores para q me funcione en Vista y el link q dejaste ahi, no me carga la pagina..

por si acaso no tendras los drivers pero para xp
Gracias hermano ahora lo que pasa es que yo tengo Windows 7 64 bits me preguntaba si tu basta sabiduria podria tranformarlo para 64 porque trate de instalar este pero me dice que no funciona... gracias de todas formas trabaja de maravilla en windows vista/7 pero de 32 bits XD
